Author Guidelines
Lumbung Pengabdian Kesehatan (JLP) accepts manuscripts in the form of community service articles in the field of health. Manuscripts submitted to this journal must be original, have not been previously published, and are not under consideration for publication in another journal.
Authors are required to submit manuscripts through the online submission system. Before submitting a manuscript, authors must ensure that the manuscript complies with the journal’s focus and scope, manuscript template, and author guidelines.
General Requirements
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is an original work and has not been published or submitted to another journal.
- The manuscript is relevant to community service, community empowerment, health education, health promotion, counseling, mentoring, training, or applied activities in the field of health.
- The manuscript is written according to the journal template.
- The manuscript file is submitted in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, or RTF format.
- All references cited in the text are listed in the reference section, and all references listed are cited in the manuscript.
- URLs or DOI links for references are provided where available.
- Tables, figures, and illustrations are placed within the text at appropriate points.
- The manuscript follows the stylistic and bibliographic requirements of Lumbung Pengabdian Kesehatan.
These requirements are also aligned with the submission checklist in the OJS 3 submission page, which requires originality, accepted document formats, reference URLs, appropriate formatting, and compliance with the journal’s author guidelines.
Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should be prepared using the following structure:
1. Title
The title should be clear, concise, informative, and reflect the substance of the community service activity. The title should not be too long and should clearly indicate the main topic, target community, or location of the activity.
2. Author Names and Affiliations
Author names must be written completely without academic titles. Each author’s institutional affiliation must be clearly stated. The corresponding author must be indicated and accompanied by an active email address.
3. Abstract
The abstract should briefly describe the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion of the community service activity. The abstract should be written concisely and clearly.
The abstract should contain:
- Background or problem of the target community;
- Objective of the activity;
- Method or approach used;
- Main results or outcomes;
- Conclusion or impact of the activity.
4. Keywords
Keywords should consist of 3–5 words or phrases that represent the main content of the manuscript. Keywords should be written in alphabetical order where possible.
5. Introduction
The introduction should explain the background of the problem, urgency of the activity, condition of the target community, literature support, and objectives of the community service activity. The introduction should clearly state the gap or problem addressed by the program.
6. Methods
The methods section should describe the implementation of the community service activity clearly and systematically. This section may include:
- Time and location of the activity;
- Target participants or community partners;
- Materials, tools, or media used;
- Stages of activity implementation;
- Intervention, education, training, mentoring, or counseling methods;
- Evaluation instruments or methods;
- Data analysis or outcome measurement.
The method must be written in enough detail so that readers can understand how the activity was implemented and evaluated.
7. Results and Discussion
This section presents the results of the community service activity and discusses the achievement of objectives. Authors should explain the implementation process, participant involvement, community response, outcomes, benefits, and obstacles encountered during the activity.
Results may be supported by tables, figures, photos, charts, or evaluation data. The discussion should relate the findings to relevant theories, previous studies, or similar community service activities.
8. Conclusion
The conclusion should summarize the main results and impact of the community service activity. It should be written briefly and should answer the objectives of the activity.
Authors may also include suggestions or recommendations for future community service programs.
9. Acknowledgments
Acknowledgments may be addressed to institutions, funding bodies, partners, communities, or individuals who contributed to the implementation of the activity.
10. References
References must include all sources cited in the manuscript. Authors are encouraged to use recent and relevant references, preferably from scientific journals, books, official reports, or credible institutional sources.
Authors are recommended to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure consistency in citation and reference formatting.
Manuscript Format
The manuscript should follow the official template of Lumbung Pengabdian Kesehatan. In general, authors should pay attention to the following format:
- Manuscript is written in Indonesian or English.
- Manuscript uses clear, formal, and academic language.
- Manuscript is typed using Microsoft Word.
- Font size and spacing should follow the journal template.
- Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.
- Table titles are placed above the table.
- Figure titles are placed below the figure.
- Images or documentation photos must be clear and relevant.
- Foreign terms should be written in italics.
- Abbreviations must be explained when first mentioned.
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures must be placed close to the text where they are first mentioned. Each table and figure must have a clear title and must be referred to in the manuscript.
Photos of community service activities may be included as supporting documentation, provided that they are relevant to the results and discussion.
Citation and Reference Style
Authors must use a consistent citation and reference style according to the journal template. All citations in the text must appear in the reference list, and all references in the reference list must be cited in the manuscript.
References should prioritize recent sources, especially those published within the last 10 years, except for classical theories, regulations, or foundational references.
Ethical Considerations
Authors must ensure that the manuscript follows ethical standards in scientific publication. Authors must avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, and improper authorship.
For community service activities involving participants, patients, students, or community groups, authors must ensure that the activity was carried out responsibly and with respect for participant privacy, dignity, and consent.
Plagiarism Policy
All submitted manuscripts may be checked for similarity using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with high similarity or indications of plagiarism may be returned to authors or rejected by the editorial board.
Submission Process
Authors must submit manuscripts through the OJS system of Lumbung Pengabdian Kesehatan. Authors need to register or log in before making a submission, as stated on the journal’s OJS 3 submission page.
The general submission process is as follows:
- Register or log in to the journal website;
- Start a new submission;
- Select the appropriate article section;
- Upload the manuscript file;
- Fill in metadata, including title, abstract, keywords, authors, and references;
- Upload supplementary files if needed;
- Confirm and complete the submission.
Review Process
Submitted manuscripts will first be screened by the editorial team to assess suitability with the journal scope, manuscript format, and similarity requirements. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be sent to reviewers through a single-blind peer review process. The final decision is made by the editorial board based on reviewer recommendations.
Revision
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the comments and suggestions from reviewers and editors. Revised manuscripts must be submitted through the OJS system within the time specified by the editorial team.
Copyright and Publication Ethics
By submitting a manuscript to Lumbung Pengabdian Kesehatan, authors agree to comply with the journal’s copyright policy, publication ethics, and editorial policies. The journal provides open access to its content to support wider dissemination of scientific and community service outcomes.
